No matter what your project, a new house, remodel, or an addition our number one priority is making sure you have a good experience.  We are always available to answer questions and guide you through the entire building process.  Starting with the design, our team works closely with you listening to your ideas, thoughts, and concerns to design the projects to fit your needs.

By considering your budget from the start we can present you with design and material options to help meet your needs.  A detailed estimate and project specifications ensure you know exactly what you are getting.

During the design and construction phases, you can access all your project information from the convenience of your phone, tablet, or computer.  Customers can log onto our system and make selections, follow the job schedule, approve changes, ask questions, see current project cost, and even make payments.

  • We have been building custom homes in and around the Cedar Valley since 2008. Our experience and knowledge allows us to build the highest quality homes rivaled by few.

  • We use a Cloud based project management software, BuilderTrend with customer login, giving you full access to budgets, job schedule, selections, and much more.

  • Our design team will guide you through the building process, answer any questions, keep you informed, and help you with all selections.

  • We have our own team of carpenters. This allows us to control the quality of homes and give us more flexibility throughout the construction phase.

  • Our straightforward approach takes care of the details so you can enjoy the process of creating your dream home—and our commitment doesn’t end at move-in.

what to expect when building with us

  • We insulate the home and complete drywall to begin shaping the interior spaces.

  • Siding, stone, brick, and exterior details are completed to define your home’s curb appeal.

  • Cabinetry, flooring, trim, paint, and fixtures are selected, approved, and installed—this is where your home truly comes together.

  • We complete final installations, walk the home with you, and address any final touch-ups.

  • We complete all inspections, obtain your Certificate of Occupancy, and prepare your home for move-in.

  • Welcome home! We continue to support you with follow-ups and warranty visits to ensure everything meets our standards.

  • We start with a no-cost meeting to understand your lifestyle, design preferences, budget, and timeline. We’ll also discuss your lot, financing, and walk you through our process and project management tools.

  • We create an initial floor plan and provide a rough budget based on your goals. This helps ensure we’re aligned before moving forward—at no cost to you.

  • When you’re ready to move forward, we enter into a design and estimating agreement. This allows us to begin detailed planning and refine your project.

  • We develop full construction drawings, finalize exterior and rough selections, and provide a detailed estimate and contract. Once approved, we’re ready to build.

  • We secure permits, prepare the site, and complete excavation and foundation work to get your home started on solid ground.

  • We frame the structure and install windows, doors, and roofing—bringing your home to life.

  • Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other systems are installed and inspected.

Our Team

Travis boyle

Travis has a degree in Manufacturing Technology from The University of Northern Iowa. He has been working in the construction industry for the past 21 years. Travis has experience in many areas of residential construction including; home design, project management, estimating, customer service, framing, fine finish carpentry, cabinet building, wood flooring, tile floors & showers, painting, staining, and more. In his time outside of work he enjoys restoring classic muscle cars, bowling, and spending time with his wife, Claire, his two sons, Logan & Liam, and dog Bowie.

Ben schmitz

Ben has been part of the Concept To Creation team for over 10 years. He has experience in framing, siding, finish carpentry, window and door installation, and wood flooring. Outside of work Ben enjoys spending time with family, bowling, and attending various racing events.

Courtney joined Concept to Creation in July of 2024. She has a degree in Interior Design from University of Northern Iowa and has pursued her passion in residential design and construction. She enjoys working with customers closely to plan their projects and give guidance through the design and selection processes. At home, Courtney enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her husband, Blake, and their daughter, Emerson.

Thad joined our team in November of 2024, bringing in a vast knowledge of trim carpentry. He has been working as a carpenter since 2004. In his spare time, Thad likes spending it with his wife Liz, and his three children; Amy, Charlie, and Isaac.

Eli joined the team in May 2025, and he has loved getting to use his finish carpentry skills. Eli graduated from Hawkeye Community College with a degree in Sustainable Construction and Design, and since then, he’s gained experience in framing, trim carpentry and many other aspects of home building. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, working on his ‘83 Chevy Camaro, and watching movies with his friends.
